Immanuel (Immy) Martins
Founder of Aeviant Biosciences, based in British Columbia, Canada.
I’m Immanuel Martins. I also go by Immy Martins. Immy is my childhood nickname. My background is in pharmacy, but most of my time goes into drug discovery, molecular modelling, research, and building Aeviant Biosciences.
Most of what I work on starts because something doesn’t make sense, behaves differently than expected, or is interesting enough that I can’t really leave it alone. That usually turns into a lot of literature, simulations, failed ideas, and occasionally something genuinely useful.
I’m particularly interested in physiology-first drug discovery and what happens when you stop treating biology like a clean target diagram. That thinking sits behind AVX-1, but also a lot of the broader computational and AI work being built, as well as the environment around Aeviant.
Outside of science, I produce music and creative direct through MYCREW®. They’re very different worlds, but I like to think I approach both the same way: make something interesting, keep pulling it apart, and figure out how to make it better.
